The incident occurred on the morning of May 6, 2025, at the busy intersection of Khumalo and Murubisi Streets in Phola Park Extension 5.

According to eyewitnesses and police reports, a silver BMW collided with a Fidelity armored cash van in an apparent effort to bring it to a halt.
