Jesse Suntele is a South African actor, rapper and recording artist known for his role on Rhythm City as Mzi who was Suffocate Ndlovu’s son on the show.
He has won talent shows ranging from rapping to acting. And he reads a lot.

Jesse Suntele is a Rapper
Suntele is a rapper and has won some talent shows on that. To be more precise though, he won one and made it to the top five on the other one. On a show in the afternoon express in August of 2019. Jesse is seen performing one of the songs that he wrote titled “me”. Suntele goes by the name J FLO when he is perfoming rap songs or in his recording career.

He always loved school
When asked about school and his childhood. Jesse excitedly admits that he enjoyed his school years. He loved school and wouldn’t mind going back. Suntele was part of a rap group in school and also a drama and dance group.
So it was always within him that he would pursue something in the entertainment industry. His father however wanted him to pursue either Chemical or Electrical engineering. But at the last minute, he decided to go with drama and that was clearly a fruitful decision he made.
He won the BET Acting Competitions of 2017.
Suntele as aforementioned won talent shows in both acting and music. One of the talent shows he won was the BET acting competition. The competition was tough and he gave it credit for teaching him more about acting than any institution ever could.

This is because it wasn’t an easy competition and they would recieve different scripts every single day. So, that really challenged him to up his game and become more versatile than he would conventionally would’ve been.
Jesse’s advice to aspiring actors
What we came here for. If you are an aspiring actor, Jesse Suntele has some advice for you. When asked what his advice would be to aspiring actors, one of the things that stood out were the following: “Make sure it is something you really want and stick around”. Jesse said that most people will try something because someone else is doing it or it seems to be working for someone instead of it being something they really want.

So one of his main and first advices was to make sure it is something you really want. Then he proceeded to say that you must be patient because nothing happens over night. Most people expect magical results in their first audition and the truth is it takes time.
Sometimes it can be on your first audition but you must be ready to face rejection for even a year or more just to get a single role. Which brings us back to sticking around and making sure it is something you really want. That is because most people will give up after 2 or 3 failed auditions. And if you want something, you must never take no for an answer. Keep trying and eventually it will work out.
