This is what the Minister Senzo Mchunu said in the interview

From all the available information, it’s evident that the investigation generally followed proper procedures, although there were challenges along the way, he added.

“A thorough probe is now in full swing, and we are engaging with all relevant stakeholders to ensure every detail is scrutinised carefully and comprehensively.’

According to Mchunu, the senior prosecutor decided not to press charges in November 2024 because there was not enough evidence, based on the case docket at the time.(1)

Outrage of the people.

Many South Africans are outraged that nothing is done seriously. The culprit appears to be getting away with it because there is no witness. The evidence may be present, but it appears that they simply want to close this case.

Actually, private investigators may be more effective than public investigators. With such a high occurrence of rape among young children, it is disheartening to see Cwecwe’s case go unresolved. People from all over the country protested for Justice for Cwecwe.

In other news, it is suspected that the Minister Senzo Mchunu lied about the principal DNA being collected. This is a sad fact because many people believe he was responsible for Cwecwe’s rape.
