Sonwabise Soso Rungqu was born in Amalinda, East London, South Africa, on May 24, 1983. In South Africa, where she was raised, she attended both primary and secondary schools. Sadly, her father passed away in 2015.

Career of Soso Rungqu
In 2007, Rungqu made her stage debut in the Civic Theatre production of The Frog Prince and Other Stories. For two years, she provided the voice of Smartycat on the children’s programme Cool Catz.
Soso has also acted in theatre productions for elementary and high schools. Soso spent some time working with the department of Arts and Culture. Ph.D. Child Case studies for the Mindset Network Health channel was Sonwabise’s first appearance on television. On numerous TV shows, including Scandal!, Mzansi Love, 7de Laan, Rhythm City, and Sokhulu & Partners, she was cast in cameo appearances.
Soso participated in the short film Awaken and the TV show HeartLaughs as a cast member. She made an appearance in Beneath the Art in 2015. She provided a character’s voice for the TruFM radio play uHambolwethu in 2015. The next year, she was given her “largest role” to date. In 2016, she had an appearance on the soap drama Isidingo as Kau Morongwa.
She had to leave the show after a few seasons because she needed to care for her sickly father.
