On the east side of Ekurhuleni, in Tsakane, Thulani was raised. After his mother passed away when he was nine, he was raised by a single father. When Thulani was still a young teenager, his father also passed away. Then his siblings took care of raising him. The actor was born on the 12th of March 1987 which means he is 35 years old as of 2022.(1) There is no information about who are his children and wife. It’s unknown if he is married and have children.

“Half of my life I was raised by my father who loved boxing very much, but he never got the opportunity to play the sport professionally. He died when I was a teenager and my brothers raised me after his death.”

Thulani is fun guy and energetic, he has been trending for different reasons. One of his favorite moves is taking pictures with his dog doll. He resemble the dog doll facial expression. Also he created his own step challenge. Most people were impressed with his step challenge and copied him. He got to the point where he tried the step challenge in dangerous ways. Career journey

Early on, he discovered a love of the arts and acting, and it sustained him throughout his career. Thulani remembers a period of time when he was still a high school student. He and his pals applied to join a drama group, but were not accepted, so they formed their own group to continue performing. He then met Refiloe Ledwaba, the founder of the art collective Tsakane Kids, and joined it. He also attended workshops as a result of their friendship. As they say, the rest is history.

He used to listen to stories on Khozi FM which was radio Zulu. Thulani would picture everything he heard on radio and acted it while visiting his friends. Together with his friends used to watch Sgudi Snaysi.

“I grew up listening to stories on Khozi FM, it was still Radio Zulu at the time. I would picture everything and try to re-enact it and when I would visit friends house, we would watch television shows such as Sgudi Snaysi and I saw myself in the characters especially in Emzini Wezintsizwa.”

His acting career got its start in local theater. The National Arts Festival, The Vrystaat Arts Festival, Drama for Life at Wits University, and other theater performances and festivals have included him since he began acting professionally.

In 2014, Thulani appeared in a guest role in the second season of the Mzansi Magic soap opera Isibaya to make his acting debut on television. In the same year, he appeared in the SABC1 drama series Kowethu as a young Petrus, which was portrayed by Yule Masiteng.

His breakthrough role came in 2017 when he was cast as a miner named Sibiya in the SABC3 soap opera Isidingo. He made his debut in an episode that aired on May 24 of that same year. At the fourth Royalty Soapie Awards in 2020, he and Nasiphi Ntabeni (Cebisa) were nominated in the category Outstanding Couple for their work on Isidingo.

He won a significant recurring part as the gangster Nyoka in the Mzansi Magic drama series iNumber Number, which is based on the same-named movie, the same year. On July 9, 2017, he made his debut in the first episode of the series.

He started playing Gedleyihlekisa in the e.tv soap opera Rhythm City in a recurring role at the end of the year, with the first episode airing on December 27, 2017.

The Mzansi Magic soap opera Gomora cast Thulani as Shisanyama manager Bongani beginning in Season 1, Episode 133. (which aired on 10 June, 2020).

He returned to Isibaya to play the role of Mpihlangene, Mpiyake’s brother who charms unsuspecting people with the tip of his hat, in the final season of the soapie, first appearing in Season 8, Episode 144 (which aired on 22 October, 2020).

In the same year he had a cameo role as a guard in an episode of the BET telenovela Isono which aired on 8 December, 2020 (Season 1, Episode 42).

The following year he landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as Malusi Buthelezi in the SABC1 thriller miniseries Hush Money, which debuted on 19 September, 2021.

He remembered the first time he began acting. It was not easy because as a newcomer they overlooked their talent.

“The biggest challenge I faced is that nobody trusts a newcomer and you are often treated like rubbish. It is very frustrating because you know you are talented but people still refuse to give you a chance.”
He said the one piece of advice that got him through the hard times was: “No only means no for right now, not forever.”
