Meet the Khumalos is a film directed by Jayan Moodley. It’s an adaptation film from Meet the Kandsamys. The film is full of humor and laughter.
Who is the cast in Meet the Khumalos?
Interestingly, Meet the Khumalos is packed with some rare faces, such as Khanyi Mbau. Khanyi Mbau and Ayanda Borotho are starring in the film together with Jesse Suntele.
With the producer seeing it fit to cast Khanyi Mbau to spice up the humorous film, the film is so interesting. What makes it so good is that it involves the legendary late actress Connie Chiume.
Other cast members include actors such as Khosi Ngema, Connie Chiume, Bonga Dlamini, Siyabonga Melongisi Shibe, Alizwa Sikhafungana, Wanda Ndzambule, and Nandipa Khubone .

What is the Meet the Khumalos all about?
The plot centers on Mbau’s character, Grace Khumalo, whose peaceful life takes a surprising change when her old best friend, Borotho’s character Bongi Sithole, moves in next door.
A number of absurd circumstances arise as both ladies deal with their complicated pasts, especially when their kids begin dating covertly, and the mothers are forced to step in and end the developing romance.
When is the Khumalos released?
Meet the Khumalos is released on 11 April 2025. The sad part is that the late Connie Chiume passed away without witnessing its release.
When it was launched a few days ago, the children were there to represent their mother.

“Meet The Khumalos” is a heartfelt homage to KwaMashu.
“We showcase the gated estates of Umhlanga, the taxi rank, and some really interesting places in KwaMashu. We bring all of Durban together in a funny, heartwarming, beautiful way. So we are so excited to showcase our city to the rest of the world.
“Our cast is an all-star cast. I think with Khanyi, I knew three years ago, even before we started scripting, that I wanted her to play the lead role.
“I had met Jesse at a Netflix dinner two years ago, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, that’s Sizwe,’ and for the rest of the cast, I sort of had an idea who I wanted, and they just blew our minds at the auditions. Khanyi calls it bespoke casting because it really is.
“We’ve got the best of the best. I think we’ve been so incredibly blessed because they are all so insanely talented. To have this amount of talent in one room does not always happen. So this project just came together.”(1)
