Early life of Masoja Msiza
Msiza was born in the South African town of Kwa-Thema in the Gauteng province. He started pursuing theatre and art classes when he was nine years old after falling in love with performing. When he was 14 years old, he participated in and won a theatrical competition at his school.After completing his studies, he worked as a miner before being fired along with other miners who were participating in a strike. Msiza began her career as a poet before branching out into music, acting on stage and television, and storytelling. He has appeared in a number of well-known films, such as Kalushi: The Story of Solomon Mahlangu and A Million Colours. However, his most renowned performance was as the violent crime boss Nkunzebomvu “Nkunzi” Mhlongo in Uzalo, the most popular television show in South Africa. He has additionally appeared in a variety of TV programmes, such as Making Cents with the Sitholes, Rhythm City, Intersexions, Scandal!, Shreads and Dreams, and Shreads and Dreams.
In 2016, the telenovela “Ring of Lies” gave him his first big television role. When South Africa competed in the AFCON tournament in Tunisia in 2004, he wrote poetry supporting the squad. For Ukhozi FM, the biggest radio station in South Africa, he also produced and wrote promotional poems. Masoja Msiza and Dudu Khoza presented the first-ever Cothoza Music Awards on June 22, 2019, which were hosted by the multi-award-winning a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
