Doctor Khumalo was born to Eliakim and Mable Khumalo on June 26, 1967 in Soweto, South Africa. His late father was a pillar and founding member of the Kaizer Chiefs. In the 1960s and early 1970s, his father was a skilled midfielder who played for Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows.

Football Career of Doctor Khumalo
Khumalo signed a professional football contract with Swallows Reserves in 1984. Later, he played for the club after joining the Kaizer Chiefs junior team.
He was promoted to the senior team by head coach Ted Dumitru a year later. Due to his unmatched display of football talent, he rose to the position of star player for his team. He didn’t play for any other football team, but he did go abroad to play for a couple short periods of time. Thanks to his achievements and football prowess, he was chosen the 1992 South African Footballer of the Year. For Kaizer Chiefs, he took part in 397 league and cup games, scoring 90 goals.
