Yonda Thomas is a South African actor who rose to prominence in 2011 after acting as Mvelo Nobela in the SABC1 drama series Fallen. He was born 1 December 1985 in Umatata and now lives in Eersterust, just outside of Pretoria.

Thomas grew up with his older sister in a single-parent household. Yonda’s father is said to have approached him when he was older.

When he’s not viewing psychological thrillers, he keeps himself occupied with judo and tennis.

His favorite actor is Gerard Butler, and the South African actor who most inspires him is Hlomla Dandala, who plays Jacob Abayomi in Jacob’s Cross.

In 2010, he was a Top 5 finalist on SABC1’s reality series Class Act.

Moonyeenn Lee, a series judge and actor rep, gave him representation at her MLA agency when he made it to the Top 5 of Class Act in 2010. Following that, he was cast as Mathew, a customs officer on the British drama series Wild at Heart.

He was later offered a three-month contract on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango to play Damon, a bartender.

In 2011, he won his first television starring role, starring in the SABC1 miniseries Fallen. In 2012, he appeared as a guest star in the e.tv anthology series Mzansi Love: Kasi Style in the episode PHD, which was based on Michelle Atagana’s Nolly Book “Finding Arizona.”

From 2012 to 2013, he played Monde Kunene in the SABC1 science fiction television series Room 9.

He had a guest starring role as Tony on the Mzansi Magic telenovela isiBaya in 2013, making his first appearance in the episode “New Mysteries Unfold” on Wednesday, October 9th, 2013. (Season 1, Episode 118).

On Isidingo in 2016, he played Majola, a police officer who arrived to take over Eddie’s responsibilities when Eddie was suspended.

Liarholics Anonymous, Yonda Thomas’ latest film, is about a doctor named Danny Pule who is trying to hide his unfaithful pleasures, unaware that his bundle of lies is about to unleash the most terrible night of his life. The talented Thomas earned the lead role in this funny musical, but due to coronavirus procedures, production was postponed until 2020.

In 2020, he acted on How to Ruin a Christmas: Weddings. In 2021, he acted again on How to Ruin a Christmas season 2.

Thomas may not have a child, but there is a little guy who now gets to call our favorite South African soap star “Dad,” and he had a difficult start in life. He was born prematurely and spent three months in the hospital due to pregnancy complications. His wife,Taz Emerans grew raised in a tough neighborhood, where she was influenced by shady personalities and became pregnant at the age of 15.

In 2021 the were engaged. On the 3rd of April 2022, the couple had a Xhosa traditional wedding.

Taking to Instagram, the newlyweds shared pictures of their wedding day. Dr Taz wore a white traditional dress, draped in black and white traditional accessories and a doek. The Seriously Single actor wore a black suit, black sandals and paired it with black, white and blue traditional accessories.

Yonda was in awe of his wife.

“I have no words for how beautiful & awesome she looks in this image, just pure power,” he wrote.
