Carine Rous who was known as Samantha from Askies was born in Pretoria on 5 May 1983. She is a South African Actress who rose to fame at young age. Rous is the youngest of three kids, their family relocated to France in Paris. They stayed there for 4 years. The reason to relocated was because their father got a contract to work in Paris.
Her sister Janine and brother Schalk are now lives in Australia. She is married to Luke Rous who is the owner of Rous House Production. The couple were blessed with one daughter whom they love so much.

She completed her honour in comedy from Pretoria Tech. After finished her studies in arts and drama, she went to perform in different production.
Career journey in acting
At first she was afraid to tell her parents that she wanted to pursue acting. She hide this fact because her parents were working better jobs. Her father was a scientist while her Mom was a Maths teacher. During that time being an actor was not considered as a solid career.
As time goes on, she became open by playing with dolls and gives them different character. Her parents discovered that she has talent of playing different character so they embraced that.
Rous went on to study the arts after that, and she began a career that brought her joy and fulfillment. She has appeared in a variety of projects, both onstage and behind the scenes. From SABC productions like City Sesla, Askies, Highrollers, and Isidingo to State Theatre performances. She appears in a variety of kyKNET shows, directs school productions, and provides voiceovers for big stores. Rous considers her life to be fortunate and blessed.

In 2018, she bagged a Safta for Best Actress in a Comedy for her role in “Elke Skewe Pot”. Also she acted on Inconceivable as Rachel, the lawyer. “Inconceivable” is a poignant drama about two best friends, who are forced to keep a dark secret.
