Mandla Gaduka was born and raised in Mahikeng, North West in South Africa. His date of birth is on the 25th of January 1984, which means he is 38 years old as of 2022.

He began his acting career at the Mmabana Cultural Center in 2002. He completed a full-time drama course during this time. He proceeded to Pretoria after finishing the training and joined The South African State Theatre Development, where he studied under Mpumelelo Paul Grootboom.

When was his beginning of his career?

He appeared in a number of Grootboom’s stage productions, including Cards and Relativity.’ In 2006, he went on a three-month tour of the United Kingdom, performing at a variety of festivals. In the meantime, he appeared in Mbongeni Ngema’s drama Sarafina. Then he involved Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet directed by Clare Stepford, by playing the role of “Paris”, and later played as “Brutus” in the play Julius Caesar directed by Clara Vaughn.

In 2009, he made his feature debut in Neill Blomkamp’s sci-fi thriller District 9.!! He joined the SABC1 television sitcom Gauteng Maboneng in 2010 and played the character “Solomon.” His portrayal proved extremely popular with the general population.

He participated in the Dance Your Butt Off reality program on SABC1. In 2014, he joined the telenovela Ashes to Ashes, where he played the character “Damian.”
Gaduka was offered the chance to continue with his role on the new show Broken Vows when the station commissioned a new e.tv telanovela.

In 2011, he landed the part of “Choppa” in the renowned television soap Generations. He made a brief appearance in the 2015 Hollywood film Avengers: Age of Ultron. In 2018, he returned to The Market Theatre to appear in Phala O Phala’s theatrical drama My Hole, My Home.

Then, in 2019, he teamed up with “Fix & Foxy,” a Danish independent theatre production company, and appeared in Dark Noon, a collaboration between the Danish company and seven South African actors. In 2020, the show was awarded the Reumert Special Prize.

Mandla also was part of the cast of Losing Lerato which was aired on cinemas in 2019. In 2022, he acted on a drama series called Umushadho wethu which is aired on Mzansi Magic.

Awards won

He won the SAFTA Golden Horn Best Actor Award in TV Comedy for both 2016 and 2018 at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) in 2011.

Also he won the Best Supporting Actor Award for TV Soap category in 2017 SAFTA.”

In Broken Vows he was nominated again for Best Supporting Actor award for TV Soap category in 2018.
