Michael Mabizela was raised in the South African Gauteng Province’s Alexandra Township, which is located outside of Johannesburg. Speaking English, Northern and Southern Sotho, Tshonga, Xhosa, and IsiZulu, Mabizela is a multilingual speaker. He and his spouse were fortunate to have two children.

From 2001 to 2002, he pursued his diploma in dramatic arts at Market Theatre Laboratory. Following graduation, he participated in a cultural exchange program at the Swedan Stad Theatre in Stockholm to learn more about the things that he values most: the arts.

Career journey in acting
Michael began his theatrical career with the late Bongani Linda’s Victory Singoba Theatre Company. His theater credits include Hayi Kabi Magenge, Msomi Gang & Spoilers at National Arts Festival, and TRC Wasted Lives. While attending Market Theatre Laboratory from 2001 to 2002, he also performed in plays like The good woman of Setzuan, Shadows (in association with an English exchange group), and Betcha.
After completing all of his coursework, Michael started acting in plays. He appeared in the productions of Mary the Unfaithful Woman by Julian Seleke, Mohope wa Mang, and Ghamchangani, all of which were directed by Ntsieng Mokgolo.
In addition to theater, he also made appearances on television and in foreign short films. He had an appearance in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, a 2013 movie based on Nelson Mandela’s life story from his early years to his inauguration as president, as Mandela and Tambo’s Client.
He portrayed Rra Banda in The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency episode 1 from 2009, which was based on the life of a woman who founded her own detective agency in Botswana. His previous movies include the 2007 picture Primeval. In The Adventures of a Supermama, he played the starring role, and on Scandal, he portrays Caiphus. 1
