Imbewu moves to early time slot as e.tv introduces new ‘adult’ show

Imbewu: The Seed, hosted by Leleti Khumalo, will move to 9 p.m. next month, with new adult show The Black Door, hosted by Mandla N, taking over the time slot.

Days Of Our Lives, an American soap opera, will be cancelled on April 11 as e.tv, a free-to-air commercial broadcaster, shifts its focus to more local programming.

Season 5 of Imbewu will premiere in a new 9pm time slot according to popular demand from viewers.

The new 9.30pm daily drama, The Black Door, will be produced by Black Brain Pictures, the same firm that brought you DiepCity and Lockdown.

The drama, which will premiere on April 11th, is about the world of prostitution. It has been described as vulgar, provocative, dark, risqué, explicit, and nuanced. Sowetan has discovered that the show would have a 16-year-old age limit, with no daytime reruns as a result.

Zamani Mbatha (Isithembiso and Rhythm City), Linda Sebezo (Isibaya), and Thobani Nzuza will headline the show (eHostela).
