Pebetsi Matlaila is a South African actor, radio host, and psychologist. She is well known for portraying a character as Mokgadi in Skeem Saam. Leeto’s wife in Skeem Saam. She revealed that she has been homeless and currently living in a shelter for homeless.
How did Pebetsi Matlaila end up being homeless?
According to her story, she failed to pay rent, and she was kicked out by the landlord. Her mother has been helping to pay rent and other things. After being kicked out, she ended up in a shelter for homeless people with her two children. The shelter is under SAPS, where GBV women and their children can stay.
If you have been following her story, you will understand that she is a victim of domestic violence. This is why she got to be in a shelter specifically for women and children from GBV.
The shelter she is currently staying at for the homeless offers these women shelter until they are able to provide for themselves. Pebetsi decided to go there so that she could get back on her feet financially.

Where is her family to help?
She explained that she didn’t want to go to a family member or any relative because she didn’t want to be a burden to other people. Already her mother has been helping all along; she could not keep on bothering her.
Currently she works in radio but doesn’t pay her enough money to do everything. She said if it was a full-time job, it could have been better. She decided to tell her story to avoid people exposing her life. Hence, there were people who took pictures after seeing her in a shelter for the homeless.
Definitely her goal is to get a 5 to 9 job so that she can come back to normal living. She is staying at the shelter with her two children. Let’s hope she will get a job, look after herself, and her children.
