Paulinah Mphethahanyi was born and raised in Ha-Raliphaswa Village, Nzhelele, Venda. Her date of birth is on the 30th of November 1995. Paulinah means a lot to both actress Paulinah Mphethahanyi and her grandfather. She was named after her mkhulu’s mother, her great grandmother. she explained.

Career journey
Her outgoing personality led her to pursue a career in acting. She joined Nonkululeko Ndlovu’s Turning Heads talent agency. “] became an extra, but she desired more,” she explained.
She saw the studio as a place to learn whenever she was there. While attending acting workshops, it inspired and pushed her to do better. Paulinah describes her initial auditions as dreadful. “There was no connection between her and the character she was supposed to play.”
She was only concerned with getting the lines just right. She just stood there talking to herself. “The only thing she did well, Tshivenda, was speak in her mother tongue.” Paulinah is a member of the Vhashavhi clan.
She portrayed Mbali Tshedza on Isithembiso and Didi on Muvhango.
“Mbali on Isithembiso began as a carefree young woman in 2017 who could get whatever she wanted, including someone else’s boyfriend, but the role has gradually evolved to a date rape storyline,” she explained.
It raises awareness of how one can go on a date, have their drink spiked, and then be raped. Mbali, for example, works at the Panther Club.
